Top-of-the-line detector uses both heterodyne and time-expansion systems with manual and level-sensitive triggering.

As an option, a frequency-selective trigger may be used in the level-sensitive mode. The D-240X can automatically capture bat calls and, using a separate control box, dump the time-expanded data to a connected tape recorder.
